OpenText Content Server Products Overview
For over 20 years Syntergy has continued to provide supported products with value-added features and unique functionality to extend core Content Server software. Content movement tools that allow organizations to more effectively manage their data are now our most popular products. Replicator is our fastest growing product that continues to be adopted by companies and government entities in globally distributed environments. Workflow Steps and Workflow Escalation are popular products for organizations implementing mission critical workflows.
Our newest product, ShareLink, provides an easy method for migrating data from Content Server or Livelink to SharePoint. All of our products are designed from the ground up in collaboration with organizations that have real world requirements that were not available in Content Server/Livelink. This approach allows us to develop effective, easy to use applications that meet the needs of customers in all industries and government organizations.
Content Management Modules
- Upgrade AcceleratorPOPULAR - Over a number of years, Syntergy has developed a proven upgrade methodology which includes the use of the Syntergy's Upgrade Accelerator for OpenText Content Server software. This approach gives you the capability to perform upgrades directly from older versions of Livelink and Content Server to the latest releases in a Single Hop (no need to up "hop" through multiple version upgrades) with Zero Downtime.
- Geo-ReplicatorPOPULAR – Take Content Server one step further with Replicator by intelligently distributing information in such a way that users on the global network have faster access to the most up-to-date version of documents. Replicator works in low bandwidth environments which mean lower overall infrastructure cost.
- DirectorPOPULAR - Director is a desktop application with an intuitive drag and drop user interface that focuses on data moving, metadata management, bulk operations (document export, import, copy, etc.), permissions management, and reporting. It was designed for End Users or Content Managers to connect to one or more OpenText Content Server instances to perform single or bulk operations such as export, import, copy and move of documents between local or network file systems and Content Server. Director helps simplify and improve the most common tasks in order to increase productivity and reduce labor costs.
- Data ManagerPOPULAR - Supersedes Bulk Loader and Exporter tools. Allows you to manipulate huge amounts of data quickly and easily. From an intuitive single page user interface, you can import and export entire folder hierarchies and perform powerful data operations on thousands of objects in seconds.
- Meta ManagerNEW - Server based tool that allows you to add, update, remove and manage Categories and Attributes to millions of objects in an OpenText Content Server without any downtime.
- AlwaysOn Content ServerPOPULAR - Allows you to implement solutions for Disaster Recovery (DR), High Availability (HA) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) for OpenText Content Server. These strategies can be deployed either “On-Premise” or “IaaS” based infrastructures such as OpenText Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS Content Server environments.
- SkySyncNEW – Unfettered agility to move, sync, analyze, integrate and control your content to empower user productivity while dramatically reducing risk and complexity. SkySync supports virtually any storage environment, with connectors for all major cloud services, ECM platforms and network file systems.
- Content Mover – Assists with moving documents and gathering the required category and attribute information associated with the document quickly, accurately and inexpensively. With Content Mover you can selectively populate a new Content Server Instance with items from an existing Content Server Instance.
- Shared Links – Shared Links enables users to include internal and external document view links as well as internal and external download links via email with personalized messages for each type of link. Access to Shared Links is through the Content Server object function menu.
- API Extensions - Allows custom and 3rd party applications to override the default behavior of OpenText REST API and CWS to allow developers to set the system “Created Date”, “Modified Date”, “Created By”, “Modified By” values. It also provides “Table Key Lookup” (TKL) support in CS10 and CS10.5.
- PDF Optimization and Assembly SuiteNEW – This solution helps organizations improve business efficiency while reducing ongoing storage costs via advanced document conversion/compression.
- PDF Editor for Content ServerNEW – Enhances OpenText Content Server to provide seamless PDF Editing capabilities using only a web browser.
Security Modules
- Enhanced Password – In use at many large companies and at US Government Agencies, this module adds additional restrictions to passwords by allowing administrators to require minimum integer, character and special character counts, use of common words, reverse words and password reuse.
- Extranet Secure – With Extranet Secure customers (Content Server groups) are registered to specific content areas such as a folder or project. Any attempt to access content outside the boundaries of the registered content is denied. Standard Content Server searches are limited to “From Here”, thereby reducing potential overhead. Should permissions be inadvertently conferred outside the boundaries, Extranet Secure ensures access is denied to the content.
- Content SentryNEW – Detecting strange and unusual activity in Content Server is one of the biggest concerns for Administrators and Content Owners. With the Edward Snowden case in the forefront of anomalous activity stories, Admins must take every precaution to make sure that valuable company secrets are kept secure and away from competitors and those looking to profit from the distribution of valuable information.
Storage Modules
- Storage Provider Migrator – seamlessly migrates content in your current Storage Provider to any Content Server Storage Provider(s) with no disruptions or downtime to your production Systems.
- PDF Optimization and Assembly SuiteNEW – This solution helps organizations improve business efficiency while reducing ongoing storage costs via advanced document conversion/compression.
Workflow Modules
- Workflow Steps – Adds dynamic functionality to make Content Server Workflow much more effective. This set of additional workflow steps can reduce the number of steps that require manual processing; like someone manually filling out a form, printing out or e-mailing a document and waiting for a response. It is easier for users to learn and use, thus saving time and money for the organization.
- Workflow Map Printer – Allows users to generate a JPEG image of a Content Server Workflow Map. Great for facilitating workflow process design, reviews and documentation. Simply navigate to the workflow map to print, select where to save the image in Content Server and then have the module generate the JPEG image.
- Workflow Escalation – Systematically manage workflow tasks that are not completed within the assigned due date. Create workflows that can be automatically processed based on the escalation criteria that you define.
- In Box Proxy – In-Box Proxy supports advanced proxy scheduling (proxies can be set-up days, weeks or months in advance) for planned absences such as vacations, conventions, jury duty, etc. This cost effective tool has more functionality than the standard Content Server/Livelink proxy including the ability to have multiple proxies with overlapping or concurrent access to the original assignee's work.
