Syntergy Shared Links
for OpenText Content Server
Communication and sharing information with colleagues, partners and customers is fundamental to any business. When the person who needs the information is inside an organization's network, it is a simple matter to direct that person to the location in Content Server or send them a link. However, if their access is via a SEA servlet or they are not a Content Server user, the process is not as straightforward. The Shared Links module provides a simple solution to both problems.
Shared Links constructs the correct SEA Servlet link for extranet users and inserts it into an email message in your default email client. The message can then be addressed to the necessary recipients.
Shared Links eliminates the need to download documents and attach them to emails. Users who can't log into Content Server click on the link in their email message to access the documents through a special restricted account. Using Shared Links provides an alternative delivery method that saves users time because they don't have to download documents, saves resources by not sending large attachments through email and provides an audit trail of document access.
Shared Links is configurable. It is capable of sending internal and external links and internal and external download links with personalized messages for each. Access to the functionality is through the Content Server object function menu.
